Come Dancing review

The recent Come Dancing event was attended by

William & Claire
Simon & Sarah
Martin & Claire
Rob & Jeanette
Idris & Heather
Pete M & Angie
Adrian & Joanna
Peter W & June

The first attempted dance of the the night was a salsa which was done at about 1/5 speed it should have been. There wasn't any collisions although Martin's free arm at one point did look like a bad Al Johnson impression.

The second dance was a cha cha cha (which is allegedly the sound a woman's flip flops make in the sand?). Going forward and backwards was okay but when the turns and spins started all chaos broke loose.

The night was a good night.

Pub Pedal wasn't an easy ride

The 1st Area event of the year wasn't an easy ride for us at least. Thanks to their dodgy multimap maps (remember archery @ Burton?) Rob and myself got comprehensively lost. So much so we went at least 6 miles further than everyone else. The locals in the village we stopped to ask directions in found it funny at least.
As per usual there was two river crossings. One is straight forward as the river basically runs over a concrete pad. The other one is a soft gravle bed with big rocks you don't see until you hit them. This one was running at it's highest point for several years. Ignore the depth guage as the wags at the River Authority sited it in the shallow end!
After all that it was back to the Rugby club for some fantastic pie and mash followed by the guest speakers who I must say managed to surpass anything that had been before them.
This was Rob's first time at this event and he has already said he's going next year.
